It is in this chapel located on rue du Bac, also called the chapel of Notre Dame de la Médaille Miraculeuse, that the Virgin Mary appeared to Sainte Catherine Labouré and revealed the miraculous medal on the 19th of July 1830.

Situated on 140 rue du Bac , this chapel belongs to the sisters of charity. It was built on the site of the appearance of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Saint Catherine Labouré. This chapel is now a place of pilgrimage that is as important as Lourdes.

Le bon Marché is the first french department store situated in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, at 24 rue de Sevres, on the angle of rue de Babylone and rue du Bac.

Built in 1838 by the Videau Brothers, they were the pioneers of the concept “department store” with a vast assortment of goods, fixed prices, and a direct staging of merchandise in retail store.

Its creation was followed by the shops of the Louvre from la Belle Jardinière, to the Printemps and the Samaritaine.  Purchased by the LVMH group in 1984, it is today the image of Luxury of the Paris’s Left Bank.
